About Kullu
A most pleasant and charming region of western Himalayas is the valley of gods referred to as Kullu valley. This valley is around eighty kilometers long as well as two kilometers broad, but then too there is very wide area which can be enjoyed by the tourist and take the pleasure of spectacular mountain views.
During the spring Kullu seems to be very colorful as it is spread through pink blossoms as well as white flowers and the high slopes are covered through stunning rhododendrons. Places to visit in Kullu
Raghunath temple This is one of the main tourist attraction which is dedicated to Lord Ram, who is referred to as one of the most significant deities in Hindu religion. This was constructed in the year 1660 through Raja Jagat Singh who was the one time ruler of Kullu. This was constructed mainly to compensate for his sins. The idol of Lord Ram was brought from Ayodhya.
Jagannathi Devi Temple The temple is located around three kilometers from Kullu. This temple is steep one and half hour gradient which leads to the temple however you will find amazing views of Kullu which you cannot miss.
Bijli MAhadev Temple As the name suggest the temple is majority of the times struck by lightning. This temple is placed around 2460 meters and comprises of 20 meters high staff projecting through the shrinewhich enables to catch the lightening through the skies which destruct below the Shivlingam. This temple is also dedicated to Lord Shiva. Bets aprts of this temple is that from the temple you can get panoramic view of Kullu valley.
Another worth visiting places around Kullu are Manikaran and Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurudwara.
