Auli, a part of Garhwal Mountain ranges, is located towards the northern zone of Uttaranchal. This is the best place for all adventure lovers. Places to visit in Joshimuth & Auli
The best time for all the adventure lovers to make a trip to Auli is winters. You can do the best skiing here because of the snow capped steep slopes here. Thus you can capture the best moments in your life from late Novembers to March. There is a great benefit for all the amateurs. You can get special training for skiing here too. So those who haven’t tried skiing yet can also give it a shot. You get good options for staying here. There are good enough amount of hotels and rest rooms that suit all kind of budgets.
Just at a distance of about 16 kms from Auli is Joshimuth. This is a place for all those who love to be in the midst of nature. This hill station is located in the slopes of mountain and above the River Alaknanda. If you wish to go on a trek to the Valley Of Flowers, you will have to start from Joshimuth itself. There are lots of excursions in Joshimuth to visit.
The temple of Narshimba is the most interesting place of all. This temple was build as a dedication to Lord Narshimba. He was an incarnation of the great Lord Shiva. It is said that the length of an arm of Lord Narshimba’s idol is decreasing day after day. Also the day when it will break, no one will ever be able to visit the holiest place Bhadrinath as the road will automatically get blocked.
Then you also have Nanda Devi National Park. It is located at about 20 kms from Joshimath and is declared to be a world heritage by UNESCO. You can locate a wide range of flora and fauna here making it a place worth visiting.
