Things to do in India

India is a nation that never ceases to astonish me. I’ve been there multiple times and come away with new and exciting experiences each time. India is a land of contrasts, where ancient customs and contemporary ways of life coexist, where vivid colours and flavours excite the senses, and where a variety of religions and cultures enrich the soul. I’ve enjoyed a lot of the things that India has to offer as a tourist, and I’d like to show you some of them.

1. Wonder about the Taj Mahal: Without seeing the magnificent white marble mausoleum known as the Taj Mahal, no trip to India would be complete. The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built it in honour of Mumtaz Mahal, his beloved wife, who died while giving birth to their 14th child. In the list of things to do in India, Taj Mahal is a work of engineering, art, and architecture that represents love and devotion. When I went to the Taj Mahal at sunrise, the light made the marble look like magic. As I walked through its gardens and fountains, I was awestruck by its beauty and elegance and experienced peace and tranquillity.

2. Varanasi in the morning: Varanasi is one of the world’s oldest and most holy cities. It is on the Ganges River, which Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains all consider to be holy. Varanasi is where life and passing coincide, where pioneers come to wash in the stream, perform customs, and incinerate their dead. The must things to do in India, taking a boat ride along the river at dawn and observing the locals’ day-to-day activities on the ghats (steps) is the best way to experience Varanasi. I observed individuals performing yoga, singing, praying, meditating, washing clothes, and even brushing their teeth. I also witnessed the burning of funeral pyres as the deceased were cremated. I gained insight into the spirituality and culture of India through the surreal and fascinating sight.

3. Explore India’s Pink City, Jaipur: Jaipur is the state capital of Rajasthan, which is known for its colourful culture and royal past. Jaipur is known as the “Pink City” because its buildings were painted pink in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales. Jaipur brings numerous attractions to the table, like the Golden Post, the City Royal residence, the Hawa Mahal (Castle of Winds), the Jantar Mantar (a cosmic observatory), and the Jal Mahal (Water Royal residence). I delighted in investigating these landmarks and finding out about their set of experiences and design. I also enjoyed going to the bazaars and markets to buy beautiful textiles, spices, jewellery, and handicrafts.

4. Embrace Goa: The state of Goa is located in western India and is well-known for its beaches, nightlife, and Portuguese influence. Goa was a province of Portugal until 1961, and you can in any case see hints of its set of experiences in its engineering, cooking, and celebrations. Goa has something for everybody, whether you need to loosen up on the sandy sea shores, party at the clubs and bars, or investigate the holy places and posts. A portion of the well known spots to visit in Goa as a part of things to do in India, are Palolem Ocean side, Basilica of Bom Jesus (where you can see the remaining parts of St Francis Xavier), Chapora Post (where you can get an all encompassing perspective on the Bedouin Ocean), Anjuna Swap meet (where you can hope for keepsakes), and Dudhsagar Falls (a fantastic cascade in the timberland).

5. Find Delhi: Delhi is the capital city of India and a mixture of societies, religions, and history. Two parts make up Delhi: Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi is where you can discover probably the most seasoned landmarks and tourist spots of India, like the Red Stronghold (a monstrous post worked by Shah Jahan), Jama Masjid (the biggest mosque in India), Chandni Chowk (a clamouring market road), and Qutub Minar (a 73-metre-high pinnacle worked by Qutb-ud-racket Aibak). India Gate (a war memorial), Rashtrapati Bhavan (the presidential palace), Lotus Temple (a Bahá’ house of worship), Humayun’s Tomb (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Akshardham Temple (a Hindu temple complex), and other modern attractions can all be seen in New Delhi.

These are just a few of the things to do in India, and if you ever visit this amazing country, I think you should do the same. I can’t list them all here because India has so many more attractions and activities. You need to encounter it for yourself and find your own top picks. If you plan on visiting India, plan on getting shocked, challenged, motivated and charmed.
