Eravikulam National Park

Covering more than 100 sq km, Eravikulam National Park is located in the Idukki region alongside the Western Ghats.

It is at a span of 13 km against the northeast side of Munnar and offers a condo to the Nilgiri tahr, a threatened mountain goat.

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary

Kumarakom bird sanctuary is a heaven for all bird lovers and bird watchers, beyond the charming varieties of Indian birds, such as egret, cormorant, brahminy kite, waterfowl, and heron.

The destination is also a favorite spot for many stunning migratory birds like Siberian stork, darter, teal, and egret.

Thattekad Bird Sanctuary is an evergreen low-land jungle located in the Kothamangalam Taluk of Ernakulam area.

Spreading in a region of 25 sq km, the park takes the northern bank of the Periyar River and is the first inaugurated bird sanctuary in Kerala.

Wayanad Sanctuary

The region between the south and north halves of the reserve is now majorly taken by plantations. Both the sanctuaries cover approximately 344 sq km of land.

Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary

Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary is an ecologically essential zone in the center of the town of Kochi. The sanctuary has a mangrove jungle that provides a home to various local and migratory birds.  

The beautiful creatures come to the area in hefty amounts with each change in the season. The most often seen species of birds are little cormorant and black-crowned night heron.
