The famous hillstation of Kodaikanal is located amongst the lush green trees, waterfalls and lake. It is located on the Pali hills and will surely mesmerize any traveler. It looks like paradise when the ‘Kurinji flower’ blossoms every twelve years. There are also many international schools of repute present here. The main tourist attractions in Kodaikanal include the Berijam Lake, Coakers walk, Bryant Park, Kodai Lake, Kurinji andavar temple. Green valley viewing point/ suicide point, Pillar rocks, Devil’s kitchen, Guna caves, Pine forests, Shanthi valley and Silver cascade. The Berijam Lake is extremely beautiful and provides an ambient place to conduct a picnic. The Coakers walk is about one kilometer in length and runs along the slope. It provides some of the best possible views when walking down the road.
The Bryant Park is another major tourist attraction. It is known for the varieties of flowers that grow here. Many a hybrids or rafts too are grown here. The Shenbaganur museum is just a few km from the lake and holds some of the most wide varieties of Orchids available in the country. It is also a home to many different birds. Kodai Lake is a man made lake which holds a great tourist attraction. It is a star shaped lake set amongst the lush greenery. The boating club here provides boating rides and boating races.
The Kurinji Andavar temple is located a few kms away from the lake and is the worshiping place of Lord Murugan. The view from the temple is beautiful as with the visibility of northern plains and Palani Hills. The silver cascade waterfall is located along the ghat road and gives rise to beautiful waterfalls. Another beautiful waterfall is the Bear Shola falls. They are so called due to the fact that bears once used to drink water from these falls. The hill station is equipped with two telescope houses. These provide a panoramic view of the surroundings and the overall greenery.
The outdoor persons should definitely try a hand at boating, cycling around the lake, trekking, horse riding etc. These recreational activities provide a way of getting away from the stress of the city.

Being a hill station, it is located afar from the airport or any railway station. However it is well connected by road ways, though there are no auto-rickshaws here.
